West Country Tiling are roofers in Bristol and the South West of England. We work with county councils, the National Trust, English Heritage, private clients, architects, builders, developers and site owners.

Our portfolio of properties demonstrates vast roofing knowledge and professional expertise. Our fully qualified Master Roofers repair, refurbish, restore and re-roof historical private residences, farmhouses, stables, garages, churches, traditional school buildings, stately homes and orangeries.

Roofing Services

In 2009-2010 we worked on the spectacular Tyntesfield House. Due to leaks in the roof causing extensive interior damage to this Victorian Gothic Revival house. As with all historical restoration projects we carry out, where possible we reuse the original materials. Where this isn’t possible, we replace ‘like for like’ with high-spec clay plain tiles.

Work we carried out over 9 months:

  • stripping the roof
  • re-insulate and renew the plain tiles 
  • extensive leadwork
  • lay the 47,000 new tiles

The finished result was awarded to following:

  • Chartered Institute of Building’s ‘Constructing Excellence South West’ award
  • ‘South West Built Environment Heritage Awards’ in 2011
  • RICS ‘South West Building Conservation’ award in 2012
  • RICS ‘South West Project of the Year’ award
 The photo on the left shows the new tiles and on the right are the salvaged tiles. Over time, the two will become identical.

We’re extremely proud of the finished result of the roof at Tyntesfield house. We value our long-standing relationship with the National Trust to faithfully restore historically significant buildings across Bristol and North Somerset.
